Not all heart rate monitors are the same. The JetBlack monitor has a small LED light which flashes green when first connected to show battery life. TOP TIP: handwash your elastic strap and dry out of direct sunlight to reduce wear on the electrodes AND disconnect your strap from the monitor to preserve battery life. Battery can be changed.
